Keynote Speaker

Dr. Darlene Bhavnani

Assistant Professor of Population Health,

Department of Population Health, Dell Medical School

Dr. Bhavnani earned her doctorate in epidemiology and her Masters of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan. She worked in public health practice and global health for nearly 10 years before beginning her academic career as an Assistant Professor at the Dell Medical School University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on social and environmental determinants of upper respiratory viral infections in children with asthma with the hope that her results will inform sustainable public health interventions to reduce the burden of asthma exacerbations.
