CHW Asthma Control Education

When asthma is under control, children can breathe well and stay active. But many children struggle with poor asthma control. This can mean missed school, poor sleep, and hospital visits.

The curriculum and content are designed to provide 4.5 continuing education credits (CEUs) for CHWs and CHWIs in the State of Texas. The series is divided into four modules.

This module fulfills the online training component required by the state of Texas for school staff and volunteers without a healthcare professional license to give unassigned medication during breathing emergencies, such as asthma attacks.

This module includes practical tools and resources to help improve outcomes for students with asthma. The module covers all topics mandated by state guidelines. Texas state requirements also include a hands-on training component.
